This is the year of the first generational handover. Gianfranco acquires the company and starts NBM, Nuova Borselli Meccanica. The company headquarters are in Borgo San Lorenzo: the new management immediately seeks new business sectors to expand into and diversify production.

Business development continues. We expand the machinery fleet park with a numerical control punching machine. Our goal is to keep up with technology, the needs of the market and customers.

In order to meet the requests and optimise the processes, we purchase a large CNC milling machinery to operate not only in the sheet metal sector but also in the precision mechanics sector. Efficiency and productivity take a leap forward.

Ahead of the times, we are the first to build a robotic and automated welding system.
An investment that confirms the company’s awareness and in interest for technological development.

The staff grows, together with the new orders that we receive from all over Italy. We further expand the machine park with some new generation milling machines.

We enter the laser age. We buy the first sheet metal laser cutting machine to provide a higher quality and reliable service.

An important turning point. The company changes its name and becomes NBM Tech Srl, led by the new Borselli generation, Gianfranco’s children: Gianluca and Giacomo.

To offer an even more complete service, we create a new company: Meccanoelettrica Mugellana Srl. The task of this company is to complete the work with a punctual electrical and mechanical assembly service, in order to deliver a fully finished product (e.g. various types of industrial machinery).

Our products have been known beyond the Italian borders for a while. We work mainly in Europe (Germany and Switzerland) and we specialize in sectors such as textiles and in the construction of industrial machinery for various business sectors.

In order to keep up with our growth, we undergo an internal reorganisation. New professional figures enter the organization chart to cover the most essential functions not only for efficient daily management but also to consolidate the administration and industrial structure of the family business.

We implement new machinery to increase productivity: we add some press brakes with angular control. In addition, we buy land not far from Borgo San Lorenzo, in Scarperia e San Piero.

This is the year when we move the business. We move to the new building located in Pianvallico in the municipality of Scarpiera e San Piero, doubling the operating area from 2000 to 4000 square meters, to which we add further 2000 square meters for Meccanoelettrica Mugellana. The expansion allows us to purchase new machines such as the Trumpf laser cutter complete with automatic storage for loading and unloading sheets, allowing unmanned operation as well.

Our focus on everything that is new and environmentally friendly leads us to believe and invest in a project linked to energy sustainability. NBM Wind Srl, specialised in the renewable energy sector, is established that year. Photovoltaic panels are installed in the Pianvallico production sites to allow us to manufacture our own energy and for the same reason we installed two wind turbines are in Firenzuola. We buy a large milling machine to meet the demands of larger and heavier products.

In search of new spaces, we decide to start building a new site bordering on the existing one: the new site is about 2000 m2 and capable of operating with ever greater efficiency. At the same time, a new 1200 m2 unit dedicated to welding is created a few km away from the other production units.

We keep updating and expanding the machinery fleet. At the same time we keep improving our internal organisation, according to the highest industry standards. Performance, safety and quality are the primary goal of NBM Tech.

We purchase a new 1000 m2 site dedicated to the storage of raw materials and administrative offices alongside the existing buildings in Via Pianvallico.

We begin building the third production site, located in Pianvallico alongside the pre-existing ones. New premises, totaling about 2500 square meters, rationally organized, where the synergy between the different departments can be developed at the customer’s service.
